The director of Women Mobilisation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Dr Betta Edu, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure re-election in the 2027 presidential election, as APC women target 40 million votes for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket.
Edu made the declaration on Monday at the 2026 Pre-Inaugural Women’s Summit and Empowerment Programme held in Abuja.
The programme, convened by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was organised under the theme, “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity — One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027.”
Edu commended the First Lady for convening the summit and supporting initiatives aimed at mobilising and empowering women across the country.
She later led participants in a campaign chant, “Winner! Oh, oh, oh! Winner! Jagaban! You don win o!”
The chant drew the First Lady, the wife of the Vice President, the wife of the Senate President, the wives of more than 30 state governors and other dignitaries to their feet as they joined in the chorus and dance.
Edu subsequently declared that Tinubu would remain President of Nigeria until 2031, saying APC women were already mobilising across the country to secure victory for the President and Vice President Kashim Shettima in 2027.
According to her, the women’s mobilisation campaign is targeting 40 million votes, with structures being activated across the 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory, 774 local government areas, wards, communities and polling units.
She said the mobilisation would go beyond campaign rallies, explaining that the objective was to establish a strong grassroots network through which women leaders could engage communities and communicate the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration.
Edu said the mobilisation would also focus on expanding opportunities for women in enterprise, agriculture, skills development, governance and community development.
“We are moving into the 2027 electoral season with purpose, structure, and determination. Our target is 40 million women’s votes, and we are building the organisation required to achieve it. President Tinubu will win again,” Edu said.
She urged APC women to remain united, organised and committed to the mobilisation effort ahead of the election.
She declared: “40 Million Women Votes! One Coordinated Mobilisation! One Voice, One Movement, One Mandate for 2027.”
The mobilisation effort is part of a broader grassroots campaign by the APC women’s directorate, with structures being activated across communities nationwide.
The programme also featured the empowerment of women beneficiaries with various support items aimed at strengthening their livelihoods.
The First Lady presented some of the beneficiaries with items, including motorbikes and farm trucks.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu also held a closed-door meeting with female APC candidates and other dignitaries on the sidelines of the programme.
