The 18-hole course at the prestigious IBB International Golf and Country Club Abuja will come alive once again as the 2023 TopFX Golf Tournament tees off this weekend.
The two-day competition, which has already generated interest among members of the club, will see no fewer than 120 golfers swinging laurels in a stroke format over the 18-holes.
Speaking at the pre-tournament briefing on Thursday, the competition secretary of the IBB International Golf and Country Club,, Sola Adebayor, said the tournament will be keenly contested among members of the club, noting that lucrative prizes are up for grabs in the various categories.
He said all necessary arrangements at ensuring a hitch free competition have been put in place, stating that, from today, December 15, when the two-day competition tees off with the cocktail, it’s going to be fun galore.
“We are happy to have TopFX organising the tournament and it is a nice time to reach out to golfers,” Adebayor stated. “We are starting the tournament with a cocktail on Friday’s evening while the tournament proper will be on Saturday and we will play over a round of 18- holes for both men and women categories.
“There would also be veteran and super veteran men and women categorie with lucrative prizes for the winners. There would also be a raffle draw, nearest to the pin in hole two and the longest drive in hole 18.”
Adebayor added that the course was in good shape and prayed for clear weather for the competition which is primed to be best.
The West Africa Regional manager TopFX, Miss Ada Ogbuehi, said her company is excited to partner with the IBB International Golf and Country Club to organise the tournament golf.
