Consequently, the governor has directed the Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA) to within seven days, demolish all illegal structures erected on government land within the Ibom Tropicana Complex in the ongoing move to give the State a facelift.

With the State targeted at becoming a top tourism destination, the governor issued the directive during his onsite project delivery tour to the 5,000-capacity Convention Centre, the 200-room Ibom Hotels Project, and the ARISE Shopping City in Uyo, the state capital.

Governor Eno explained that the demolition was aimed at ensuring free and unhindered access to Ring Road 3, thereby fast-tracking the completion of the strategic projects under the ARISE Agenda blueprint of government.

“We will not allow encroachments to derail the State development plan. Private development must not be allowed to block public access to government facilities”, Governor warned.
