Tributes Pour In For Ex-Anambra Governor, The Late Ezeife

The passing of Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, former governor of Anambra State, has drawn expressions of grief and heartfelt condolences from various quarters, mourning the loss of an iconic figure in Nigerian politics.

Immediate past governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, expressed deep sadness and sympathy over the passing of Ezeife, stressing the late governor’s significant contributions to Nigerian politics.

Obiano described Ezeife as a highly esteemed figure and a valuable asset to the government, especially in advocating for the welfare of the Igbo people whom he held in high regard.

He further highlighted the immense loss felt not only by the late statesman’s family and friends but also by the entire nation.

Obiano reflected on the fruitful collaboration they shared during his tenure as governor and praised Ezeife’s governance during his reign in Anambra.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State lamented the loss of Ezeife, noting his profound impact as a consistent advocate for good governance and progressive politics.

He praised Ezeife’s commitment to the welfare of both the common man and the elite, acknowledging the late governor’s substantial contributions as a former governor, permanent secretary, and political adviser.

Uzodimma emphasized Ezeife’s vocal and constructive stance on governance matters, extending his heartfelt condolences to those affected by this significant loss.

The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr. Somtochukwu Udeze, lauded Ezeife for laying a solid and progressive foundation for the state’s development.

Udeze acknowledged Ezeife’s exceptional leadership during Anambra’s early years as a state and praised his economic expertise and efforts to stabilize the state’s economy.

He urged politicians to emulate Ezeife’s qualities of humility, selflessness, prudence, and dedication to duty while praying for eternal rest for the departed soul.

The Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) extended condolences to the Ezeife family, Igboukwu community, and the entire Igbo populace, expressing deep sorrow over the passing of the former Anambra State Governor.

The CLO noted Ezeife’s role as a compassionate, patriotic, and selfless leader who championed good governance and prudent management of public funds.

The organization praised Ezeife’s integrity, transparency, and advocacy for justice and truth, stressing his significant contributions to the growth and development of Anambra and Nigeria at large.

Former Minority Leader of the Senate, Enyinnaya Abaribe, expressed profound shock over Ezeife’s demise, describing it as a great loss to the Igbo community and Nigeria as a whole.

Abaribe commemorated Ezeife’s unwavering commitment to advocating for people’s rights, equality, and good governance.

He stressed Ezeife’s courageous stand on national issues and his dedication to the welfare of his people, particularly the Igbo community.

Abaribe assured Ndigbo of continued efforts to seek a solution to ongoing challenges, urging them not to lose hope.

Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State commiserated with the government and people of Anambra State, expressing deep sadness over Ezeife’s demise. He hailed Ezeife as a respected leader, a wise counsellor, and a bridge builder whose contributions to Nigeria’s political landscape will be indelibly etched in history.

Governor Bello recounted his interaction with Ezeife, praising the elder statesman’s commitment to mentoring young leaders and fostering unity across political divides.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide conveyed deep sadness over Ezeife’s passing, describing him as a remarkable advocate of progressivism, justice, and equity.

The group recognized Ezeife’s invaluable contributions, including his fight for justice during the Moshood Abiola mandate and his unwavering commitment to advocating for a re-federalization of Nigeria.

The pan-Igbo group stressed Ezeife’s legacy as a quintessential Igbo personality and called for prayers for the repose of his soul.

Former Governor of Abia, Dr. Orji Kalu, expressed condolences over the demise of Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, describing the late politician as a significant figure in national politics.

Kalu acknowledged Ezeife’s immense contributions to nation-building, citing his exemplary leadership qualities and dedication to social, economic, and political development in Nigeria.

He urged the Ezeife dynasty to sustain the late statesman’s admirable deeds, praying for eternal peace for the departed soul.
