UNILAG Appoints New Registrar, Librarian

University of Lagos (UNILAG) has appointed Mrs Victoria Abosede Wickliffe as registrar and secretary to council and Dr Olatokunbo Christopher Okiki as the university’s librarian.

This was disclosed in a statement by the head, Communication Unit, Office of the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Mrs Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem.

It stated that the Governing Council of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), at its meeting presided over by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Chief Wole Olanipekun, on Friday, December 6, 2024, approved the appointment of Mrs. Victoria Abosede Wickliffe as Registrar and Secretary to Council and Dr. Olatokunbo Christopher Okiki as University Librarian.

Mrs Wickliffe’s appointment is with effect from Saturday, February 1, 2025 while that of Dr Okiki is with effect from Friday, March 14, 2025. Both appointments are for a period of five years.

Their appointments followed the recommendations of the selection boards for the appointment of a substantive Registrar and the university Librarian, respectively.

Also, the university’s governing council, at its meeting of Thursday, December 5, 2024, had constituted the selection boards, in pursuant to Section 7.1 of the University of Lagos Act, 1962 (as amended) in the Universities Miscellaneous Act 1993.

 

The vice-chancellor, Prof Folasade Ogunsola, on behalf of management, staff and students of the university heartily congratulates Mrs. Victoria Abosede Wickliffe and Dr Olatokunbo Christopher Okiki, and wishes them a successful tenure.
