Dikko, who also chaired the event, commended Waldorf Knoll for its exemplary organisation of the inter-house sports, noting that such initiatives will aid the commission in identifying talented athletes across Nigeria.

He assured that the NSC would provide support to enhance future events. “The inter-house sports taking place here today clearly reflects our objectives. I have been involved with this institution long before assuming my role at the NSC, and it holds a special place in my heart. I intend to leverage my position to advance these efforts and promote the advocacy necessary to align with President Tinubu’s vision,” Dikko stated.

He further revealed that a committee has been established between the National Sports Commission and the Federal Ministry of Education to collaborate in talent identification.

“We recently engaged with vice chancellors, directors, and provosts, emphasizing the need to focus on sports development. Notably, we have received communication from the University of Jos, which is positioning itself as a Center of Excellence for North Central Nigeria. They are planning to establish national sports courses, including degree programs, to align with international standards and foster collaboration with global institutions,” he added.
