Primate Elijah Ayodele has once again told the former Minister of Power, Bayo Adelabu, to heed his warnings in order to emerge the next governor of Oyo State, warning that he could still lose the governorship race even if the All Progressives Congress (APC) endorses him as the candidate.
Speaking in a viral video shared on social media, the cleric claimed that Adelabu’s path to becoming governor depended on a factor within his (Ayodele) control, urging him to seek his guidance.
“My son Bayo Adelabu, you are my son, I love you, but if you miss it, what you need to become governor is in my hands. Come and take it. Try it, let APC put you there. If you don’t take it, you will lose,” Ayodele said.
Primate Ayodele went further to assert the weight of his spiritual influence, adding, “Let me boast as a priest, if you get there, there is no longer God. What you need to become the next governor is in my hands. I said so; God told me so. Let anybody call it anything, I am just challenging you that to become governor, what you need is in my pocket. If you win, there is no God.”
His remarks have stirred reactions online, given their controversial tone and the strong claims regarding divine authority and political outcomes.
LEADERSHIP reports that the former minister of power recently resigned from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet to join the Oyo State governorship race ahead of 2027 elections.
