Why I Gave Portable ‘Tony Montana’ Royalties – Skepta

British rapper Joseph Olaitan Adenuga Jr, popularly known as Skepta has revealed why he didn’t renege on his promise to Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable.

In March 2024, after the duo had a collaborative hit song, Tony Montana, Skepta who has a net worth exceeding $20 million promised to give Portable all the earnings from their song.

The British rapper also covered all expenses on the song including the audio and video production.
On his social media handle, the singer disclosed that Skepta has given him royalties for his contribution on their collaborative hit, ‘Tony Montana.’

He appreciated the Grime star for not defrauding him.
On Instagram, Portable wrote:

“Tony Montana money don enter. No ripping zone. Big Smoke. Big Money. I really appreciate you.”
Reacting via X, Skepta revealed that he honoured the agreement because he isn’t greedy.
Sharing screenshot of Portable’s post, he wrote:

“‘Greed’ no dey my Dictionary #TonyMontana.”

Produced by acclaimed British-Ghanaian record producer Jae5, Tony Montana on its inaugural day of tracking on the Spotify Top Songs Daily chart, which occurred on Friday, March 1, 2024, garnered a remarkable 193,000 streams, reinforcing its position as a chart-topping sensation.

This achievement holds special significance as it signifies the first instance of Portable, Skepta, and Jae5 jointly reaching the number one spot on the chart, highlighting the enormity of their success.
