Distinguished Senator Aliyu Ahmed Wadada needs no further introduction to the people of Nasarawa State and beyond. Senator Wadada is one person who knows his onions when it comes to playing politics within Nasarawa state and beyond. He carves out his own niche in the game of politics so much so that today in Nigeria, apart from being a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Wadada happens to be among the top movers and shakers of Nigerian politics and economy.

Take it or leave it, Senator Wadada has distinguished himself as one of the top Nigerians who, when they cough, some must sneeze.Senator Wadada may not be among the top captains of industries in Nigeria, but virtually all Nigerian captains of industries know who Senator Wadada is by virtue of the position he held before as House of Representatives Committee Chairman on Capital Market and by virtue of the position he is presently occupying as Chairman Senate Committee on Public Accounts.

They all know his worth and know what he is capable of doing. Name any Nigerian who excels either in politics or in business, and I will show you Senator Wadada’s connection with that person and how he is being revered.

They all have tremendous respect for him.In areas of partisan politics, virtually all the known political juggernauts from both the North and the South know the senator’s political agility irrespective of their political party affiliations. Senator Wadada is indeed a household name amongst the Nigerian political class.Since he ventured into partisan politics, Senator Wadada remains consistent and straightforward. His consistency and straightforwardness are what endeared him to the old and the young, the rich and the poor, not only in his home state but all over.

It was this character trait that made it easier for him to, whenever he threw his hat in any political contest, always cost home to victory. The story is always the same; there’s no contesting these facts. Even in 2023, when he contested for the Senate seat, he emerged overwhelmingly even with the forces of former governor Abdullahi Adamu against him. Senator Wadada never put his personal interests above the interests of his constituents.

All his dreams are centered on how to improve the living conditions of his people, empower the less privileged, and provide for the women and children of his constituency. Without fear of being contradicted, today in Nasarawa State, if there is a name that is much talked about by both friends and foes, that name is that of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada. Senator Wadada is, of course, a politician of many clouts.

Against this background, it is inappropriate and laughable to suggest that Senator Wadada does not have respect for elders. If there is one politician who has tremendous respect for all categories of human beings, that politician is Senator Wadada. From his antecedents, Senator Wadada has never looked down upon anybody, regardless of age, tribe, or creed. It is for these reasons that Senator Wadada has become a darling politician in Nasarawa state.

Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, from whatever angle you look at him, is one person who adores the political landscape of Nasarawa State, making him attract both friends and supporters on an almost daily basis. Again, one thing that one cannot deny about Senator Wadada, even if you are his foe, is his simplicity, compassion, and his ability to differentiate his right hand from the left.

Yes, in Nigeria today, there are politicians that cannot do that; even by the strength of imaginations, demarcate their right from the left. Senator Wadada’s history is in fact replete with instances of decency. His life is also full of righteousness and compassion.

While it is true that politics is a dirty game, Senator Wadada doesn’t see it that way. To him, party politics is a decent game requiring decent people to venture into, devoid of all forms of primitivities; thus, it is preposterous for one to, at this century, bring in ethnic and religious politics and to even suggest that Senator Wadada is not an Indigenous of Nasarawa state. This is sheer primitivities.

It is pertinent to note, at this juncture, that Senator Wadada is one person that doesn’t hide his thoughts, feelings, and even his future ambition from anyone. He has since let his future political ambition be known to anybody that cares to know. Senator Wadada has disclosed his ambition to rule Nasarawa state as governor come 2027 and has never minced words over that.

There are some in Nasarawa state that are playing hide and seek, thinking and believing, albeit wrongly, they would be anointed. But Senator Wadada, being well grounded, needed anointment from the almighty Allah, that’s why he remains the only beacon of hope for us in Nasarawa State.
