Kellogg Tolaram Nigeria, the proud makers of Nigeria’s leading breakfast cereal, recently hosted jubilant students and schools to a prize presentation ceremony for the winners of the “Kellogg’s Super Star Essay Competition 5.0”. This annual competition, which commenced in 2019, has grown to become a beacon of educational support, reaching over 1.8 million pupils in approximately 12,000 schools nationwide.

The 5th edition of the Kellogg’s Super Star Essay Competition attracted the participation of an impressive 350,000 students from schools across Nigeria. Out of this exceptional pool of talent, 150 students emerged as winners, each securing a substantial educational grant of N150,000 each.

Kellogg Tolaram Nigeria extended its commendation not only to individual students but also to their schools that actively participated. The top-performing schools were acknowledged with significant prizes:

Ebenezer African Church School, Lagos (1st Place): With 380 entries, the school secured the 1st position, winning a grand prize of N500,000 and Products.

Abbot Dayspring School, Lagos (2nd Place): Garnering 369 entries, the school claimed the 2nd position, winning a prize of N300,000 and Products.

Joy Foundation School, Abuja (3rd Place): Accumulating 368 entries, the school earned the 3rd position and received a prize of N200,000 and Products.

In addition to the top three schools, 20 other schools across Nigeria received consolation prizes of N100,000 each. This gesture reflects Kellogg’s commitment to easing the financial burden of education for students and encouraging a healthy breakfast routine.

The Kellogg’s Superstar Scholarship Presentation ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished figures, including Mr. Kayode Oyekanmi, Director, Strategy Centre, Ministry of Information Lagos State; Mrs. Omolayo Akinlade, Director, Education Resource Centre; and Hon. Babatunde Adewale, Permanent Board Member, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board [LASUBEB].

Mr. Kayode Oyekanmi, Director, Strategy Centre, Ministry of Information Lagos State said: “Kellogg Tolaram Nigeria has embarked on a commendable journey to uplift education and nurture young minds. Their dedication to addressing critical issues in our educational system is praiseworthy.”

Mrs. Omolayo Akinlade, Director, Education Resource Centre said: “Education is the cornerstone of progress, and Kellogg Tolaram Nigeria’s initiative is a testament to their commitment to the development of our future leaders.”
