The 36 states women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) including that of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have passed a vote of confidence on the party’s national women leader, Dr Mary Alile-Idele.
The vote was passed during a solidarity visit by the leaders to Alile-Idele at the APC national secretariat in Abuja at the weekend.
This came as some female protesters stormed the APC headquarters to demand Alile-Idele’s resignation, accusing her of negligence and pursuit of personal interests.
But the women leaders, who spoke through six zonal representative passed the ‘Vote of Confidence’ saying at the rate she was going, President Bola Tinubu’s re-election victory in 2027 is assured.
While announcing the vote of confidence, Plateau State APC women leader, Afniki Dangin, said Alile-Idele is competent and had carried the 36 states and FCT women along.
Dangin said each state had seen the impact of Alile-Idele and that is why the state leaders decided to not only appreciate her but also tell the world that she is doing well and they are behind her.
Borno State women leader, Fatika’kenna Monguno who spoke for North East zone, said they were 100
percent behind and there was no going back on their resolve.
In her remarks, Alile-Idele thanked them for the confidence reposed in her, saying had being working tirelessly to ensure that they are on top of their game by delivering on their mandates and getting what duly belongs to them.
Alile-Idele assured that she will continue to speak for all APC women in Nigeria and in the diaspora.
