Yobe Govt Supports Almajiri, Tsangaya Schools With Teaching, Learning, Other Materials

The Yobe State Government has extended support to Almajiri and Tsangaya schools across the state with the distribution of vital teaching and learning materials, reaffirming its commitment to inclusive education and community development.

The distribution exercise, which took place at the August 27 Stadium, Damaturu, was part of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s efforts to uplifting Almajiri pupils and their teachers (Ulamas) for better results.

The Governo, represented by the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Hon. Yusuf Umar Kaigama has while speaking during the occasion, said the initiative was meant to provide equal educational opportunities, eradicate street begging, and enhance the dignity of the vulnerable in the state.

He assured that his administration will sustain people-centered programs that directly impact communities.

The Executive Secretary of the Arabic and Islamic Education Board (AISEB), Dr. Umar Abubakar while speaking said the support was designed to improve health, comfort, and learning conditions for Almajiri pupils, while equipping Ulamas with resources to enhance both teaching and livelihood.

He said the package includes 20,000 mats, 2,200 mosquito nets, 3,500 food dishes, 3,000 pairs of shoes, 30,000 textbooks, 2,000 reading boards (Allo), 10 sewing machines, and one grasscutter machine to Almajiri/Tsangaya schools and Ulamas across the 17 local government areas.
