Borno State governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has expressed shock over the tragic tank explosion that killed over 105 people in Majiya village, Taura local government area of Jigawa State.
Zulum, in a statement released by his SSA on New Media, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, yesterday, extended condolences to Governor Umar Namadi and the families of the affected victims and prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed.
“I am pained by Tuesday’s tank explosion that killed nearly 107 people and injured over 50. I wish to extend our condolences on behalf of the government and people of Borno State to my brother, Governor Umar Namadi,” Zulum said.

The governor added, “While I pray for the repose of the souls of the departed persons, may Almighty Allah give to their families the fortitude to bear the loss and grant quick recovery to those that were injured.”

The explosion occurred when a tanker driver lost control of his vehicle near Khadija University in Majiya village around 12 noon on Tuesday.
