The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed that over 1.5 million candidates have already completed their registration as the deadline for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) approaches, closing on March 8.
LEADERSHIP reports that the registration period for the 2025 UTME began on February 3 and will conclude on March 8, 2025.
JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin, who disclosed this in a press statement on Tuesday, said the deadline had been communicated in all advertisements and the official calendar for the 2025 UTME exercise.
“We would like to let all prospective candidates know that there will be no extension of the registration period.
“This notice is critical given the recent decline in candidates registering for the examination. We would like to ask everyone who wish to participate to register quickly and avoid waiting until the last minute.
“Over 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered, which aligns closely with the Board’s projections for the 2025 examination cycle.”
He said it is essential to note that the Board’s calendar is fixed, and numerous subsequent programs, including examinations, results management, and admissions exercises, are scheduled after registration.
“These timelines are coordinated with other agencies whose operations rely on completing our processes. Therefore, extending the registration period would disrupt the Board’s plans and our partners.
“In light of this, we strongly encourage candidates to complete their registration as soon as possible, adhering to the established timeline for the 2025 UTME,” he added.
