They were rescued by security operatives from a forest in Zurmi local government area of Zamfara State.
Receiving the victims at the Government House, Sokoto, the deputy governor, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir, commended the security operatives for a job well done.

Gobir reiterated the state government’s commitment to addressing the problem of insecurity.
He said, “Ahmed Aliyu’s administration has never relented in its effort in that direction, having viewed insecurity as its major challenge.

“This is the reason the Governor continues to accord priority to security through prompt action on anything related to security brought before him.”

Alhaji Idris Gobir announced the donation of 100,000 naira, a bag of millet and maize to each of the eleven victims.
