The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has unveiled the “APC, SAK” campaign slogan in Kano North Senatorial District as the All Progressives Congress begins preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Barau, who inaugurated the Kano North Senatorial District Campaign Council on Tuesday in Kano, charged party members and stakeholders to mobilise voters for the victory of all APC candidates from the presidential election down to the State House of Assembly.

The campaign council is expected to mobilise across the 13 local government areas in the district for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Barau, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other APC candidates.

Barau, according to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, urged members of the council to work together and ensure the party records overwhelming victories in the district.

He described the council as an all-inclusive structure involving stakeholders at the ward, local government and senatorial district levels.

“This is an all-inclusive arrangement. Everybody is involved, and all stakeholders are part and parcel of this council. This has always been our system, and it is one of the reasons we have continued to succeed in Kano North. This election will not be an exception, by God’s grace,” he said.

The Deputy Senate President also urged APC members to put the outcome of the party’s primary elections behind them, saying all members remained part of the same political family.

He called on those who emerged from the primaries to work with aspirants who lost their bids for party tickets, stressing that victory for the APC should remain the priority.

“You can see that many of those who contested the primaries but did not secure the tickets are here today. They understand that the party belongs to all of us, and that the victory of the party is ultimately their own victory,” Barau said.

The campaign council, chaired by the Managing Director of the Hadeja Jama’are River Basin Development Authority and former Secretary to the Kano State Government, Engineer Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi, pledged to campaign for all APC candidates.

Bichi described Barau as a strong and sellable candidate, saying his interventions and contributions had left visible footprints across Kano State.

He said the council comprised experienced politicians and grassroots mobilisers capable of delivering a strong electoral performance for the APC in Kano North.
