Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State have endorsed President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Senator Ede Dafinone for the 2027 general election.

The endorsement, supported by all 11 ward coordinators of the party in the LGA, was announced during a stakeholders’ meeting in Sapele, where party leaders said the decision was based on confidence in the leadership and performance of the three political figures.

Pioneer APC chairman in Sapele LGA, Chief Lucky Esigie, who moved the motion for their adoption as sole candidates, said the endorsement reflected the determination of stakeholders to support continuity and strengthen the party’s political direction ahead of 2027. The motion, seconded by Mrs Thelma Tonwe, was adopted by voice vote and met with a standing ovation.

Convener of the meeting, Chief Patrick Akamovba, said the endorsement of Senator Dafinone was based on what he described as his visible performance and effective representation, adding that the senator had built widespread support across Delta Central through his record in office.

Akamovba also urged potential challengers to reconsider their ambitions for the Delta Central Senate seat, insisting that Dafinone had established a strong political structure that would be difficult to challenge.

In remarks interpreted as politically pointed, he contrasted Dafinone’s representation with past leadership in the district, arguing that the senator had distributed development projects across the senatorial district rather than concentrating them in specific areas.

Political observers said the inclusion of Governor Oborevwori in the endorsement adds another dimension to the development, suggesting shifting alliances and strategic positioning ahead of the 2027 elections.

With the Sapele APC openly backing Tinubu, Oborevwori, and Dafinone, the endorsement was viewed as an early indication of emerging political alignments and strategic positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
