The Commissioner for Works in Kwara State, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, has declared his intention to run for the House of Representatives seat for Ilorin East and Ilorin South Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections, following his resignation from the state executive council (SEC).

He promised to build a functioning local economy for the federal constituency if given the opportunity to serve his people.

Olododo is vying for the House of Representatives seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

At the official declaration of intent, Olododo said his promise to build local economy was not about jobs only but to create pathways to improved income.

He pledged that he would make his constituency’s representation transparent and accountable in a way never seen before.

Olododo also assured that he would connect the people of his constituency with entrepreneurial skills to receive federal intervention funds through Bank of Industry (BOI), NIRSAL and as well as small and medium enterprises facilities from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

He said through his representation in the lower chamber of the the National Assembly, young people would be trained in technical trades, digital skills and in the remote-work economy that is now a real market for anyone with preparation and internet access.

“Everything I will do in Abuja will orbit two commitments. The first is this: I will build a real, functioning local economy for this constituency. Not promises about jobs but actual pathways to income. For our traders. For our farmers. For our young people who have skill and hunger and nowhere to direct it.

“The second is this: I will make this constituency’s representation transparent and accountable in a way it has never been before. You will always know what I am doing. You will always be able to check me,” Olododo said.
