He said, “Nigeria Police Force is the lead agency for internal security and we are ever ready for peaceful elections. We will strive to ensure to ensure peaceful and violence free elections.

“I can assure you that no political party or candidate will receive preferential treatment from the police during the course of this elections. We will treat everyone equally and ensure a smooth elections.”

The IGP also assured the INEC team of police protection and called for collaboration with all relevant stakeholders to achieve free, fair and peaceful elections.

Speaking earlier, the INEC chairman said they were at the Force headquarters to seek collaboration with the police for peaceful elections.
