2027: Target Youths, Shekarau Tells PDP

Former Governor of Kano State Senator Ibrahim Shekarau has tasked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to leverage on the country’s youth population to win majority of elective seats at both federal and state levels.

He was speaking at the unveiling ceremony of the Board of Trustees of Northern Forum of Zonal and State Youth Leaders of PDP in Abuja.

Shekarau enjoined the youth to rally round PDP as the credible alternative to take Nigeria out of all of the challenges confronting it.

He emphasised that the 16 years of PDP in government are far robust and better for Nigerians.

Aruwa Ismaila Chairman, Northern Forum of Zonal and State Youth Leaders of PDP & North Central Zonal Youth Leader of PDP explained that the social Media handles are to serve as awareness creation avenues to regain the confidence of Nigerians towards returning to its old winning days.

Party leaders including Hon. Enemona Anyebe – Kogi State Chairman of PDP, DR. Joel E.B Adagadzu – NorthCentral Zonal Organizing Secretary of PDP,

DR Yunana Iliya – National Ex-Officio of PDP and Hon. Shaba Ibrahim – Former Reps member on behalf of the Inaugurated Trustees believe that lack of internal democracy was a major factor responsible for PDP’s inability to capture power at the centre.

They however expressed optimism that the party is capable of reuniting itself for future election victory.

Other speakers including leaders and youth of the party at the PDP social media handles inauguration appealed for understanding among party leaders at all levels to work as a team towards moving PDP from opposition to a party in government status.
