Shooting Stars technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote has commended his players for the away victory against Kano Pillars.
The Oluyole Warriors defeated Kano Pillars 2-1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Monday.
Veteran midfielder, Rabiu Ali gave Pillars the lead, while Shooting Stars rallied with goals from Taye Murtala and Christian Pyagbara.
Ogunbote hailed his players for fighting back to win the game despite their poor start.
“I have to give it to the Almighty God and at the same time appreciate the players. We started poorly because fatigue set in on the players,” he told 3SC media.
“We left Ibadan on Saturday and we didn’t get here until Sunday night because our vehicle developed a fault. So you expect fatigue to set in.
“We just tried to manage the game in the first 45 minutes and in the second half, I think the boys were able to exhibit what they should have done in the first half.”
Shooting Stars moved up to sixth position on the table with 46 points from 29 games.
