Elder statesman and former national chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Dr Bamanga Tukur has described the death of media mogul, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi as a colossal loss to the nation.

Tukur, a former governor of old Gongola State, while expressing deep sorrow over Dokpesi’s death last Monday, further described it as a monumental calamity to Nigeria, black nations and the world at large.

Tukur’s grief was contained in a statement signed by his media adviser,  Chief Oliver Okpala.

The Tafida of Adamawa recalled that he worked with Dokpesi for so many years with a high level of loyalty and trust- and even ended up serving him as his Personal Assistant and confidant, while he was the Governor of the Old Gongola State – now split into Adamawa and Taraba  states.

On the political front, Tukur said he relied very much on the support and trust of Dokpesi while he served as the National Chairman of PDP.

“To baba, this is a collosal loss to his family, the media, the entire nation and human race. Raymond has left a footprint in the sand of time.

“Dr. Bamanga Tukur regrets this death which he describes as a monumental calamity to Nigeria, the black nations and the world at large.”

He said he would miss “Raymond dearly as his son, confidant, trusted political associate and business partner.”

He prayed to God to grant his soul eternal rest and give the Dokpesi family the fortitude to bear this unquantifiable loss which is Indeed irreparable.
