Indigenes of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have commended President Bola Tinubu and the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, on the recent creation of FCT Civil Service Commission and Secretariat for Women Affairs.

One of their leaders, Dr Lazarus Gaza, on behalf of the natives at a press briefing yesterday, said in a few months from now, FCT will wear a new look because there will be new projects.

He said the FCT indigenes were pleased and support the president and the minister for their thoughtfulness and swift actions to see to the growth of Abuja and the welfare of civil servants.

Gaza who was the first elected member of the House of Representatives in the aborted Third Republic, for AMAC / Bwari Federal Constituency, noted that with this development, FCT will have permanent secretaries in the secretariats and a head of service.

“Again, the interest placed on the women, especially the approval of the creation of a secretariat for women just like the Ministry of Women Affairs in the states is renewing the hope of the natives and the FCT residents as well.

“I commend the President for the creation of the FCT Civil Service Commission to allow staff career progression and Treasury Single Account TSA, which will pave the way for the minister to utilize the FCT Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, for the development of the nation’s capital which will be a huge milestone,” he said.

According to him, Tinubu is a consummate democrat and the leader of progressives, and that he knew that the president would not leave the FCT natives behind.
