The National Youth Service Corps in partnership with Zeenab Foods Ltd, operators of Nigerian Exporters Hub, successfully conducted sensitization programs tailored to equip Nigeria’s future leaders with essential skills needed to become successful in the agro-exportation industry.

This exercise which aims to turn every youth from self-oriented job seekers to self-reliant individuals, took place in seventeen (17) orientation camps for the NYSC Batch (C) Stream One (1) corp members across the nation.

The nationwide sensitization exercise which addressed the importance of bridging trade gaps between Nigeria, China, and other Far East countries, focused on key aspects of the export process, as corps members were educated on What to export, How to Export, Where to export and assured access to verified buyers. This is a testament to the vision of the Nigerian Exporter’s Hub to scale up and maximize the number of Nigerian exporters through organized sensitization, guiding and off-taking.

Abdulfattah Abubakar, the M.D of the Nigerian Exporters Hub (NEXHub) at the sensitization exercise, recognized the potential of the youth as catalysts for driving Nigeria’s exports beyond the traditional oil sector. He further stated, ” that the Nigerian Exporters Hub (NEXHUB) through this training seeks to facilitate international trade by positioning the youth as key players in driving non-oil exports.”

The cumulative impact of the Nigerian Exporters Hub is evident, with over 1.3 million youth corps members being sensitised on the fundamentals of agro-commodity export till date. Also, about 20,000 youth were trained across the 17 NYSC orientation camps nationwide.

This exercise organized by the Nigerian Exporters Hub, not only aligns with the objectives of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) scheme of NYSC, it also aligns with the broader vision of diversifying Nigeria’s economy and fostering sustainable growth beyond traditional sectors.

As the country looks towards a future less dependent on oil, this sensitization exercise is crucial in shaping a resilient and innovative economic landscape.
