The crowd-pulling show features a session of hot-mixed repertoire of World-class reggae music from global reggae music greats within and outside Nigeria. These included: Bob Marley, Don Carlos, Jimmy Cliff, U Roy, Orits Williki, Majek Fashek, Lucky Dube, Amos McRoy, Eric Donaldson, Ras Kimono, Mandators, among others from Nedu Outside, who is also top disc jockey with generational collection of music from decades around the world. The monthly event was successfully held recently at their ultra-modern head office of Cheer and Cruiz Entertainment Lounge, Ikosi, off CMD road, Magodo area of Lagos.

According to the organizers, the free show is aimed at Transforming Nigerian youths with positive empowering music. The CEO of entertainment outfit, Stephen Nedu aka Nedu Outside the program was launched monthly to rescue Nigeria youths from the constant alarming off-shot of music pollution from the music industry.

Speaking to LEADERSHIP, the ace entertainment, arts, and culture impresario, said that the massive lawd music being churned out by our musicians are not healthy for our teeming fans especially our youths. “ As a matter of fact, having been long in the entertainment, and hospitality industry, we have obviously observed the current music out there is one of major contributor to the high rate of crime in our nation at present.

The music now is poor in lyrical content especially the reigning Afrobeats music. You can’t learn anything positive from them as we usual do in time past. They only instigate people to indulge in crime immortality. These musicians only exhibit falsely acquired wealth and nude women whom they debase without any moral conscience. This is not music is the purpose of music.

After we thoroughly review it, we started to remedy the bad situation with the introduction the decent music for people to listen to. Therefore, reggae music which is one of the most decent and positively impacting music was chosen by us to achieve this purpose. You see reggae music has very inspiring message that transforms the mind. It was impactful to me in my early years in life and I believe it can still do so for today’s generation.

In the “Reggae Night”, we don’t just play the reggae music for people to be entertained, dance and enjoy themselves, I teach them especially the youths, the transforming life lessons from the music. These evergreen songs from reggae legends such as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, Lucky Dube, Majek Fashek, Ras Kimono etc.

Ademola, an excited participant at “ The Cheers and Cruiz Reggae Night”, testified in an interview the event was a remarkable experience. He explained that he apart from enriching his life with the kinky reggae dance, he is going home better equipped with solutions he obtained from the show to successfully combat some life challenges working against his life progress.

Joshua, another participant, said that he truly enjoyed the show, as he was highly motivated by the deep messages in the music and not like music where we just dance and later go home empty.
