Speaking to LEADERSHIP, the ace entertainment, arts, and culture impresario, said that the massive lawd music being churned out by our musicians are not healthy for our teeming fans especially our youths. “ As a matter of fact, having been long in the entertainment, and hospitality industry, we have obviously observed the current music out there is one of major contributor to the high rate of crime in our nation at present.
The music now is poor in lyrical content especially the reigning Afrobeats music. You can’t learn anything positive from them as we usual do in time past. They only instigate people to indulge in crime immortality. These musicians only exhibit falsely acquired wealth and nude women whom they debase without any moral conscience. This is not music is the purpose of music.
After we thoroughly review it, we started to remedy the bad situation with the introduction the decent music for people to listen to. Therefore, reggae music which is one of the most decent and positively impacting music was chosen by us to achieve this purpose. You see reggae music has very inspiring message that transforms the mind. It was impactful to me in my early years in life and I believe it can still do so for today’s generation.
In the “Reggae Night”, we don’t just play the reggae music for people to be entertained, dance and enjoy themselves, I teach them especially the youths, the transforming life lessons from the music. These evergreen songs from reggae legends such as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, Lucky Dube, Majek Fashek, Ras Kimono etc.
Ademola, an excited participant at “ The Cheers and Cruiz Reggae Night”, testified in an interview the event was a remarkable experience. Joshua, another participant, said that he truly enjoyed the show, as he was highly motivated by the deep messages in the music and not like music where we just dance and later go home empty.
