The permanent secretary of the state’s Ministry of Works, Engr Hamisu Garba Mohammed, disclosed this to journalists yesterday after inspecting the ongoing work at the airport.

Garba said the rehabilitation project cut across water management, generating sets, air conditioners, X-ray screening machines and other structures in the airport.

He said the state government had procured modern communication gadgets to ensure effective communication in the airport’s operations and added that a solar system had been installed to provide alternative power supply.

The permanent secretary expressed gratitude to Governor Mohammed for his administration’s investment in the transport industry and promised that the 2024 hajj operation would be conducted at the airport without any hitches.
