The newly elected national chairman of Accord Party Mgbuden Maxwell has promised to make the party a formidable force in Nigeria’s political landscape.
He stated this in his inaugural speech following his election as chairman alongside other members of the new National Working Committee (NWC).

The new officers were elected at the party’s national convention held on Sunday, July 28, 2024 and monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
At the convention, Mgbudem Maxwell was elected as the national chairman of the party, while Maryam Saleh emerged as the deputy national chairman.

Others are Hon. Adebukola Abiola Ajimobi – national secretary; Abdul Rahman Danladi, deputy national secretary; Abdullazees Salahudeen, national treasurer; Ibe Kenechukwu, national organizing secretary; Joseph Omorogbe, national publicity secretary; Magret Belaboh, national financial secretary; Muhammadu Umar, national auditor; Muhammad Sani A, national youth leader; and Awogbade Rachael, national women leader.

In his acceptance speech, the new national chairman, Mgbudem, thanked members of the party for the trust and confidence they have placed in him to serve as the national chairman.

He promised that Accord will become a formidable force in the political landscape of the nation in his tenure.
“Together, we will cultivate a party that is not only respected but also admired for its innovative ideas and unwavering commitment to the betterment of our country,” he said.

“I pledge my allegiance to elevate our party to the highest political pedestal, ensuring that Accord is synonymous with progress, innovation, and success.”

Meanwhile, the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, has since congratulated Mgbedum on his emergence as Accord national chairman.
In a statement signed by its national publicity secretary, Mrs Chinyere Oge-Kalu, IPAC described his victory as well deserved.
Mgbedum is a legal practitioner, a former Accord national legal adviser, national chairman Caretaker Committee, founding member of the party and national secretary, Inter Party Advisory Council.

“IPAC has no doubt that he will justify the confidence Accord members reposed in him by running an inclusive administration, reconcile all aggrieved members and take the party to the next level of electoral exploits,” the statement said.
