Recall that the federal government recently rolled out twenty trucks of food palliatives to each of the thirty six states of the federation including the FCT to ameliorate effect of hunger on Nigeria masses.

Speaking with our correspondent in Osogbo, Osun State, a philanthropist, Pastor Lawrence ‘Tayo Agbesanya pleaded with those at the helms of affairs of the palliative distribution across divide to take into consideration the vulnerable people in the society to attract God’s favour for our country.

Agbesanya who warned against the food palliatives pilling up at choice people’s stores said God has soft spot for the less privileged because God stated it in His words that they will continue to exist on the land adding that whosoever take care of them will be favoured.

Meanwhile, a vulnerable group; Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS recently appealed to Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, not to allow the current food items that the state received from the Federal Government as palliative to elude them.

According to the vulnerable cluster, they didn’t receive any of the past palliatives distributed in the state, thus urging the governor to factor them into the current garri and corn that were given to the state as their medications require enough food.

In a chat with our correspondent in Osogbo, Osun State, Coordinator of Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (NEPWHAN), Roseline Awoyemi who appreciated the recent announcement of food palliative arrivals in Osun commended the state governor for this transparent initiative.

Her words: “Despite being one of the most vulnerable groups in our society with over Twenty Four Thousand and Fifty (24,052) members across the state (National Data Repository NDR), our community has not yet benefited from such arrangements.

She pledged their preparedness to collaborate with the government to ensure that the allocated resources reach those who are genuinely in need within the community.

Also, Alhaji Rasaq ‘Remi Adejumobi who quoted copiously from the holy Quran insisted that for any body or state to flourish, there is the need to take special care of people living with disabilities and the poor.

He noted that Allah is in the know of whatever be their challenges and looks up to individuals, organisations and governments that will put their case at the front burner of special treatment in the provision of relief materials to alleviate their sufferings.
