Nigerian Red Cross Society has charged journalists covering beats in conflict areas not to hesitate to acquire skills so that they can use such skills to save injured people rather than  panicking during accidents.

Field officer  for International Committee on Red Cross on First  Aid and Pre- hospital, Mr. Omoruyi Edobor, gave the charge while addressing journalists who participated in a capacity building workshop in Calabar at the weekend.

Edobor urged participants not to panic whenever they find themselves in accident situations.

He urged them not to limit themselves to first aide treatment,  but  rush the accident  victims  to a nearby  hospital  where they can receive medical attention.

“There is  nothing wrong with  participants providing emergency treatment  to accident victims before  safely moving  them to a nearby medical outreach for adequate and proper medical attention .
