Suspected Herders Kill Trader, Okada Rider In Benue

Armed men suspected to be herdsmen have killed two people while coming back from Jato-Aka Market at Mshen community of Nyihemba in Mbaikyor council wards of Kwande local government area of Benue State.

The hoodlums also carted away the victims’ money and goods during the attack.

The youth leader of the ward, Igbawua Gandepuun who disclosed this to our correspondent on the telephone, said the attack occurred just a kilometre away from the Army Camp stationed at Government Secondary School, Anwase.

 

According to Gandepuun, angry youths of the community, in protest took the bodies of the victims to the military camp, alleging their failure to protect the victims.

According to him, the two victims, a housewife and a petty female trader, Andeh Aondover as well as a motorcycle rider, Boki Tyodzua were ambushed and killed by herders.

Gandepuun said l the herders removed all the money on Tyodzua and carted away all items bought by Andeh after killing them.

The youth leader also lamented that farmers in the area were yet to start the clearing their farm lands because those that attempted it were killed by herdsmen with nobody seeing their corpses till date.
