Gov Nwifuru Reaffirms Commitment To Development Of Quality Education

Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru, has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to ensure the development of quality education for the people of the state.

He made the disclosure during the Joint Consultative Committee on Education (JCCE) Reference meeting at Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.

Governor Nwifuru represented by the state deputy governor, Princess Patricia Obila urged the participants to have fruitful deliberations, stating that the state is hospitable and free from any form of fear.

The governor intimated to them some of his achievements in the state education sector, which included ranking education first in his People’s Charter of Need Mantra and constructing 39 one-story buildings in all the local government areas of the state.

While declaring the 2025 JCCE Reference Meeting open, he commended the federal government for the huge investment in the education sector and said that President Bola Tinubu has good plans for the country.

The commissioner for education, Primary and Secondary, Prof Paul Nwobasi, thanked the Federal Education Board for the opportunity to host the 2025 JCCE reference meeting after the cancellation of the NEC meeting last year.

His Ministry of Tertiary Education counterpart, Prof Amari Omaka SAN, prayed for successful deliberations during group discussions.

The chairperson of JCCE Reference Committee meeting Mrs Anigbogu Obianuju stated that the purpose of JCCE meeting was to deliberate and generate data that would enable the plenary meeting and the NEC meeting later in the year, to formulate policies for education in the country,

The JCCE secretary, Mrs. Olayiwola Abosede, thanked Ebonyi State government and the organisers of the meeting and expressed gratitude to the State Governor for accepting the hosting of the JCCE meeting and called on the  participants to be dedicated during the meeting.
