The signing ceremony held at the Conference Hall of the state’s Head of Service on Thursday, was attended by key government officials and trade union representatives.

Bauchi State Head of Service, Barr. Muhammad Sani, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prioritise the welfare of civil servants.

Represented by the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Education, Alhaji Ali Babayo, he  emphasised the role of civil servants as essential to the successful implementation of government policies.

Special adviser on labour matters, Comrade Usman Danturaki, highlighted the government’s dedication to resolve workers’ demands through collective bargaining and pledged continued cooperation with organised labour.

Also speaking, the state chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Dauda Shuaibu, commended the peaceful negotiation process and urged full implementation of the MoU when economic conditions improve.

He called on civil servants to understand the distinction between rights and privileges.

JAC chairman, Comrade Abubakar Ahmed, expressed appreciation for the outcome of the negotiations and encouraged the staff to remain committed to their duties.

He also called on the government to ensure faithful execution of all terms agreed upon.
