Zamfara State governor, Dauda Lawal, on Wednesday, visited Banga community in Kauran Namoda local government area to condole the families of 38 victims recently killed by bandits while in their captivity.

Governor Lawal said God will expose and shame those responsible for the brutal attacks and senseless killings by bandits.

The affected communities include Banga, Sakajiki, Kuryar Madaro, Maguru, and Tambarawa, all in the Kauran Namoda local government area.

During the visit, Governor Lawal assured the communities of his commitment to ensuring safety of lives and property.

In his speech, the governor strongly condemned the recent wave of attacks carried out by bandits, saying the intentional violent acts were to spread fear in the communities.

“I visited Banga town to express my sympathy with the people regarding the recent bandit attack that occurred a few days ago.

“When the unfortunate incident occurred, I was not around. As soon as I received the news, I directed the deputy governor to lead a high-level delegation for a condolence visit.

“I just returned to Gusau yesterday (Tuesday) after the trip, and I felt an urge to make visiting the affected communities my top priority today.

“I want to reaffirm my administration’s commitment to increasing our efforts in the fight against banditry.”

He prayed for Allah to expose and shame those responsible for these brutal attacks and senseless killings. “I urge everyone to stay steadfast in prayer for an end to all forms of criminality in our dear state.”
