Traders under the auspices of Vegetable Sellers Association at Utako Market in Abuja have emphasised the need for peace to build a more prosperous nation.

Chairman of the association, Mu’azu Hamza Yahaya, stated this yesterday in a chat with journalists in Abuja, urging leaders and citizens to embrace mutual co-existence for a healthier nation.

He called on well-meaning Nigerians to lead by example and show love to one another.

Yahaya shared his personal story, saying, “I started my business with the little money I had. With endurance and perseverance, I eventually rose to become the president of the association.”

According to him, truth is the greatest virtue, and without it, a person cannot succeed – not even in their parents’ house.

He added that patience was equally important and anyone who possesses both traits would not live a life of regret.

He also urged parents to understand the critical role they play in the lives of their children. This, he said, includes instilling good moral upbringing, enrolling them in school and encouraging them to learn vocational skills, which can serve as a viable alternative if they do not secure white-collar jobs.

Addressing the youth, Yahaya advised them to think twice before taking any action, encouraging them to take life calmly and patiently. “There is a time and place for everything,” he said, warning that rushing into things often leads to unfavorable outcomes.

He reminded leaders both at local and national levels to always strive to serve the interests of the people. He urged them not to fail or embarrass their followers but endeavour to fulfil the responsibilities entrusted to them with diligence and integrity.
