The United Africa Advisory Board (UAAB), in partnership with Prince George’s County, Maryland, hosted a landmark African Business Roundtable Symposium and induction ceremony to strengthen economic opportunities for African entrepreneurs in the diaspora.

The event, themed “African Enterprise and Opportunity Exchange,” took place at the Metro Points Hotel in Lanham. It brought together business leaders, government officials, and vendors showcasing innovations across multiple sectors, including technology, agriculture, fashion, and real estate.

Prince George’s county executive Hon. Aisha N. Braveboy delivered the keynote address, commending the UAAB for advancing inclusive economic participation.

She reaffirmed the county’s commitment to partnerships that promote cross-continental trade, innovation, and enterprise diversity.

Braveboy also encouraged African-owned businesses to leverage county-level programs that support minority entrepreneurs.

UAAB chairman Amb. Dr. Billy Okoye and vice chair Amb. Lady Ono Achale emphasized the board’s mission to unite African business interests under a collaborative framework.

Amb. Dr. Joy Davis, co-vice chair of UAAB and co-owner of Metro Points Hotel, was widely recognized for hosting and mobilizing support for the event.

Philanthropist Dr. Jude Onyegbado received special recognition for his contributions to the UAAB’s economic empowerment initiatives. The event’s communications team, led by Amb. Hon. Chidi Ahaghotu (PRO) and Amb. Ike Ogbuebile (Media Director), ensured extensive media coverage, while Amb. Stanley Ogbumuo coordinated participant engagement.

County agency representatives provided detailed briefings on business registration, certification, and procurement opportunities available to minority and diaspora-owned enterprises.

The symposium concluded with a joint commitment from UAAB and Prince George’s County to establish the African Business Roundtable as an annual forum for enterprise development, cultural diplomacy, and inclusive economic growth.
