The Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District, Osita Ngwu, says the leadership of Senate President Godswill Akpabio has contributed to relative stability in the 10th Senate.
In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, Ngwu said the Senate has experienced fewer tensions since the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly in 2023, attributing this to what he described as a more inclusive leadership approach.
He noted that cooperation among lawmakers across party lines has improved, alongside coordination in legislative activities.
“Senator Akpabio has shown leadership marked by consultation, fairness, and respect for divergent views. These qualities have helped bring stability and direction to the 10th Senate,” Ngwu said.
The lawmaker added that Akpabio’s political and administrative experience has been useful in managing legislative processes and keeping the Senate focused on its constitutional responsibilities.
Ngwu reaffirmed his support for the current leadership of the Senate and urged lawmakers to sustain collaboration in addressing national issues.
He also called on the public and other stakeholders to support the National Assembly in its legislative work, particularly in areas aimed at economic development, strengthening democratic institutions, and improving citizens’ welfare.
According to him, maintaining stability in the Senate will be important for sustaining productivity and advancing legislative priorities
