Arsenal will look to cap another impressive home campaign in style when they host Burnley in their final home fixture of the Premier League season, with history heavily favouring the North London side.

The Gunners head into the clash boasting a dominant recent record against Burnley, having suffered just one defeat in their last 19 Premier League meetings. That solitary loss came in December 2020 when Burnley secured a shock 1-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have also established a formidable record against newly-promoted clubs at home. Since 2010, the Gunners have gone 44 league matches unbeaten against promoted sides on home soil, winning their last 15 such encounters with an aggregate scoreline of 43-9.

Mikel Arteta’s side have equally turned their final home fixtures into celebratory occasions. Arsenal have lost only once in their final home game of a league season in the last 28 years, recording 12 wins and two draws since a defeat to Aston Villa in 2011.

Burnley, meanwhile, travel to London with little encouragement from recent form. The Clarets have managed just one win in their last 27 league matches and face another difficult afternoon against one of the division’s strongest home sides.

Arsenal’s defensive solidity has been central to their campaign, with the club already registering 16 clean-sheet victories this season. Their ability to grind out narrow wins has also proven decisive, with seven of those victories coming by a single-goal margin.

The attacking threat of Viktor Gyökeres has further strengthened Arsenal’s push for a strong finish. The striker has enjoyed an outstanding debut campaign at the Emirates, scoring nine of his 14 league goals at home and joining an elite list of Arsenal forwards, including Thierry Henry, Olivier Giroud and Alexandre Lacazette, to hit double figures at home in their first season.

Arsenal’s substitutes have also played a decisive role this term. The late winner scored by Leandro Trossard against West Ham, following an assist from captain Martin Ødegaard, highlighted the squad depth available to Arteta, with no Premier League side recording more goals or assists from the bench this season.
