Nigerian TikTok star and content creator Peller has responded sharply to rapper YCee after the musician referenced him while lamenting what he described as a decline in intelligence within Nigerian society.
YCee had earlier criticised the kind of content gaining popularity online, referring to the trend as “Peller culture” while discussing what he called an “olodo uprising.”
The comment quickly drew reactions from several content creators, with Peller taking particular exception to being singled out.
In a post, the social media personality described YCee as an “anyhow OG” and argued that the rapper could have expressed his opinion without mentioning his name.
“The same olodo uprising wey una dey use promote una noise, very anyhow OG. If you’re an elderly person, respect yourself. Must you mention names? You yourself are an illiterate because, as an elderly man with sense, you should be able to make your point without mentioning anyone’s name,” he wrote.
Peller’s response has since fuelled conversations on social media, with users divided over the exchange. While some defended YCee’s criticism of online content trends, others backed Peller, arguing that the rapper unnecessarily dragged him into the debate.
