Kebbi, 4 Others Get World Bank’s $27m For Sectoral Performances

The World Bank has injected $27 million into Kebbi,  Bayelsa, Borno, Kano and Yobe states for their excellent performance in the education and healthcare sectors.

This was announced by the head of Information and Public Relations of the Kebbi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Isah Ibrahim.

He said the funds were under the World Bank-supported HOPE Governance Programme Performance-based Incentives (WB-SHGPPBI).

In a statement issued to journalists yesterday, he added that the performances of the five states were a result of their achievements of the year-zero disbursement-linked results, verified by the interim independent verification agents.

The head of information noted that the outstanding feat reflected the unwavering commitment of governor Nasir Idris’s administration in strengthening governance, improving public service delivery and implementing impactful reforms that will continue to attract national and international recognition.
