The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 general elections in Bauchi State, Hon. Usman Adamu Ahmed Suphi, has unveiled Alhaji Abdulkadir Alin Bababa as his running mate and commissioned the party’s state secretariat.

The event was held on Sunday at the new party’s secretariat located at Kobi Street, Bauchi. The secretariat was inaugurated by Alhaji Isa Dansidi, secretary of the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led faction of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), which is backed by FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Usman Adamu Ahmed Suphi, said he had continued to witness increasing public support and positive signs ahead of the 2027 elections.

He described his emergence as the party’s governorship candidate as an act of divine providence and expressed confidence in his ability to lead Bauchi State to greater development.

He appealed to the people of the state, particularly women and youths, to support the PDP and its candidates, expressing optimism that the party would win the governorship and other elective positions in the 2027 general elections.

According to him, the calibre of the party’s candidates places the PDP in a strong position to reclaim power across the state.

Speaking after his unveiling, the deputy governorship candidate, Alhaji Abdulkadir Alin Bababa, pledged to deploy his political experience and influence to ensure the PDP’s victory in the state.

He thanked the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him and assured members that his political structure would complement the campaign efforts toward achieving success at the polls.

In his remarks while inaugurating the secretariat, Alhaji Isa Dansidi, Secretary of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), called on party members to remain united and committed to the party’s objectives.

He said the large turnout of supporters at the event reflected Bauchi residents’ readiness to give the PDP another opportunity to govern the state in 2027.

Earlier, the Bauchi State PDP Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Kassim Toro, described the party as united, formidable and fully prepared for the forthcoming elections, citing its strong grassroots presence across the state.

Toro said the party was determined to secure victory in the governorship election, the three senatorial seats, all 12 House of Representatives seats, and the Bauchi State House of Assembly.

He maintained that the PDP had fielded credible candidates capable of delivering victory and recalled that the party was responsible for many of the developmental projects executed in Bauchi State and across the country during its years in government.

He urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation through door-to-door campaigns to strengthen support for the PDP and ensure victory in the 2027 general elections.
