‘Mararaba Twin Flyovers Near Completion’

The construction of the twin flyovers in Karu local government area of Nasarawa State has reached an advanced stage of completion.

The state government confirmed the development to newsmen in Lafia yesterday through the senior special assistant to the Governor, Mr Peter Ahemba.

Ahemba said the accelerated pace of work on the project will provide major traffic relief on the busy corridor.

He noted that the Karu projects are part of a broader effort to ease congestion and improve inter-community access across the state. The focus on Karu, he stressed, reflects its role as a gateway LGA with heavy commuter and commercial traffic.

“With the twin structures nearing completion, attention is now shifting to last-mile works and opening timelines,” he said.

He added that work is also progressing steadily on the Keffi flyover, while the Akwanga flyover was recently commissioned.

Beyond the flyovers, Ahemba disclosed that the state government has flagged off a new phase of road construction targeting rural links.

The first set of beneficiary communities, he explained, include towns in Akwanga and Nasarawa Eggon LGAs; Garaku in Kokona LGA; and Gadabuke in Toto LGA.

“These projects are designed to open up communities and support economic activity at the grassroots,” he stated.

He said more contract awards for grassroots infrastructure are expected in the coming weeks.
