BREAKING: Respite For NSCDC, NIS, NCoS Applicants As CDCFIB Sets August 31, September 7 Shortlist Dates

Hope has been renewed among applicants seeking recruitment into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) and Federal Fire Service (FFS), as the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) announces dates for candidates to check the shortlist for the oral interview.

While graduate category applicants are expected to check their recruitment status from Monday, August 31 to September 2,, 2026, those who applied with NCE, OND and SSCE qualifications are expected to begin checking from Monday, September 7- 9 , 2026, as the Board moves the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise to the oral interview stage.

This development comes after months of uncertainty among applicants who had participated in the physical and medical screening exercise, with some beginning to lose hope that the recruitment process would proceed to the final stages.

In a press release signed by the Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) A.M. Jibril, and posted on it Facebook page on Friday night, August 28, 2026, said it had concluded the assessment and shortlisting process for candidates who participated in the recently concluded screening exercise for recruitment into the Civil Defence Corps, the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigerian Correctional Service and Federal Fire Service.

The Board said successful candidates will now proceed to the oral interview stage, bringing those who make the shortlist closer to possible employment in the respective agencies.

The Board said applicants who applied with NCE, OND and SSCE qualifications are expected to check the same portal from Monday, September 7, to Wednesday, September 9, 2026, for the list of successful candidates.

The announcement is expected to bring relief to applicants who had remained in suspense after completing the earlier stages of the recruitment exercise and were unsure whether another stage would follow.

The CDCFIB directed candidates to use its official recruitment portal, recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng, for all information concerning the shortlist and oral interview.

The statement added that candidates who are shortlisted will be required to select a venue closest to them, as well as a date and time for the oral interview. “They are also expected to print their letters of invitation and appear at the venue in strict compliance with the dress code specified in their invitation letters., the statement stated.

The Board stressed that only candidates who are shortlisted for the final exercise will be granted access to the interview venues.

The CDCFIB further warned applicants to be cautious of individuals or groups demanding money in connection with the recruitment exercise, reiterating that the entire process is free of charge.

It urged anyone approached for payment in exchange for employment or assistance with the recruitment process to report such persons to the nearest security agency or appropriate authority.

The Board also clarified that it does not and will not send recruitment notifications through email, advising candidates to rely solely on the official portal for updates.

With the announcement of the oral interview shortlist, attention will now shift to the respective dates when candidates in the Graduate and NCE/OND/SSCE categories are expected to check their recruitment status.

According to the statement, “Shortlisted candidates are requested to select a venue nearest to them, a date and time, and print their letters of invitation.”

“Applicants are therefore advised to disregard any individual or group demanding payment for employment in whatever form and to report such person(s) to the nearest security agency, or person in authority.” the statement added.
