Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Abia State, Rev. Ojo Uduma, has felicitated Christians in the state on this year’s Easter celebration.
Speaking with LEADERSHIP Sunday in Umuahia yesterday, Uduma said the period centred on God’s salvation for mankind through the death of Jesus Christ.
“Easter is not just a period for celebration and merrymaking, but a period to reflect on the suffering, death and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ,” he said.
Urging them not to allow the suffering to be in vain, the chairman stressed that they should hold firmly onto their faith in Him, until when we all meet with Him.
He underscored the need for love, peace, tolerance, understanding, unity, harmony and the security of the state to give room for the ongoing development and transformation.
“We pray for His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, that his good work will continue to showcase the state as God’s own state,” the clergyman added.
