This was contained in a statement by the secretary to the state government, Chris Ezem which was made available to LEADERSHIP in Umuahia, the state capital.

Recall that an Abuja Federal High Court, last week granted ex parte order freezing the account even as the the government claimed that it lacked jurisdiction over the matter.

“Government, therefore, directs all commercial banks that have transactions with it to resume normal transactions without further delay,” according to the statement.

The statement said the government warns “all those mischief makers who are bent on stalling smooth and peaceful transition through unnecessary litigations to stop forthwith”.

It further said the government considered the legal action as unpatriotic and mischievous activities of some people who are bent on undermining its laudable legacies and achievements.

It added that the outgoing government had invested so much on peace and security and would not be drawn into unfortunate plan to foist anarchy on the citizens.
