Academic activities at the College of Health Technology in Pankshin local government area of Plateau State were yesterday grounded following protests by ad-hoc workers of the institution.

The workers who gathered at the school as early as 10 am blocked the entrance gates and prevented movement into the school premises.

The leader of the group, Wambutda Wugokwe,  who led the protest, said the reason for the protest is the non-confirmation and absorption of adhoc workers in the ongoing replacement of workers and the non-payment of 45 months stipends.

He said the protest was an opportunity to bring to the attention of the government and other relevant agencies the injustice and unfair treatment which they had suffered in the institution for the past years. They vowed to continue the protests if their demands were not met.
