Edo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Kassim Afegbua, has dismissed insinuation that he was unwell.
Dismissing the rumour through a video message, Afegbua stated that he has been working in his office.
He was reacting to comments by a United Kingdom-based social media influencer, Albert Obazee, that he (Afegbua) was hospitalised.
The Edo State information commissioner stated that the video was intended to expose Obazee as a liar.
Afegbua also displayed documents concerning the Radisson Blu Hotel in response to former Governor Godwin Obaseki’s comments that the state government had spent N2 billion to purchase the hotel.
“This video is to show that one noise maker who feeds off social media is a liar. I am in my office.
“I am not in a hospital. That wish he placed on me will bounce back on him. He is going to be unwell. It is going to be visible to everyone to see that he is very unwell. I am in my office, and I am doing well,” the commissioner said.
On the Raddisson Blu hotel, Afegbua said documents showing the sum of N25 billion was sourced from the stock market, saying the amount remained a debt on the taxpayers of Edo State.
Afegbua said Governor Monday Okpebholo was paying N385million monthly from the State’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the irrevocable payment order on the N25billion debt.
