Thees Council (AFCC) secured a hard-fought 2–1 victory over the Office of State Surveyor -General (OSSG) in a friendly encounter at the Abesan Mini Stadium in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos. This match, regarded as more than just a friendly, aimed to keep participants fit and prepare them for upcoming tournaments, notably the Lagos State Inspector General Cup and the Coaches Cup.

The OSSG team began strongly, taking the lead in the 20th minute when Emmanuel, commonly known as “Emma,” broke the offside trap and calmly slotted home after a fine through ball from Nurudin Shobajo. However, the Coaches Council responded swiftly. Just seven minutes later, Oba delivered a superb lob pass to Puma, also known as “Mr Producer,” who controlled the ball neatly before finishing past the goalkeeper to equalise at 1–1.

The first half ended evenly, with both teams showcasing moments of brilliance, including a threatening dribble run from Larry that was well saved by the OSSG goalkeeper.

After the restart, Agege Coaches grew into the game, applying more pressure. Oba, once again lively on the flanks, tested the defence with dangerous crosses. Rokeeb of OSSG also came close in the 55th minute with a powerful effort that went just wide.

The persistence of the Agege Football Coaches Council (AFCC) finally paid off in the 62nd minute. A clever pass from Sulayimo, affectionately called “Maradona,” released Femi, nicknamed “Lukaku,” who displayed great composure in front of goal to slot home the winner, securing a 2–1 comeback for the Coaches.

For the Office of the State Surveyor General, it provided a valuable opportunity to test their strength ahead of the Lagos State Inspector General Cup, while for the Coaches Council, it served as crucial practice for the Coaches Cup.

Both teams displayed high levels of determination, fitness, and tactical awareness, highlighting the importance of grassroots-level matches in building strong teams for upcoming competitions. At the final whistle, the Agege Football Coaches Council celebrated their victory, while the OSSG side took positives from the encounter despite the narrow defeat.
