Commenting on the project, Lokporibi said on his social media handle, called on the contractors and other relevant stakeholders to fast-track the completion of the project, pledging to render every necessary support that might be needed.

“It is worthy of note that work on the project has progressed appreciably and I am delighted about that. While calling on the contractors and other relevant stakeholders to fast-track the completion of the project, I pledged to render every necessary support that might be needed.”

According to him, the completion of the 130 kilometres/48 inches Obiafu-Obrikon-Oben Gas Supply pipeline, will no doubt complement President Bola Tinubu’s efforts in the supply of gas across the nation, especially now that the nation is tending towards CNG as an alternative to PMS.

“Mr President’s commitment to increasing production is a top-notch objective of the Ministry therefore, I considered this as a mission to rekindle the nation’s hope of boosting gas supply for power generation and we will continue to engage all stakeholders to ensure its fruition,” Lokpobiri said.
