Kaduna State governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi yesterday declared that the All Progressive Congress (APC) has wrecked Nigeria.
He also added that has described the Muslim-Muslim presidential and governorship ticket in Kaduna State as a sure way for APC to lose the general election.
Hunkuyi, who represented Kaduna North Senatorial district in the 8th National Assembly (NASS) and guber hopeful said, the people’s goodwill and trust will guarantee himself and other candidates on his party victory in the 2023 general elections.
Speaking with journalists at his Kaduna residence, Hunkuyi said, the ruling APC has wrecked Nigeria and Nigerians are eager to pay them back come 2023 and his party, the NNPP is the most credible alternative platform that will be used to do so, stressing that, “APC will lose election no matter what”.
On the same faith ticket, he said,” For me, I recognise the cosmopolitan nature of Nigeria and Kaduna State. So I won’t do that. In anycase, I want APC to loose election and the Muslim-Muslim ticket is the sure way to loose election, and this Religious fanatism will not sail through in 2023”.
On whether or not the NNPP has the political structure to win an election, he said, “structures do assist in winning elections but structures but Goodwill, we have good will and people trust us because we don’t lie to them. We have a high yield to win and by God’s grace, we will win” he stressed.
“NNPP has come to stay and has occupied a space within the political landscape of Nigeria and we expect a bright coast in the 2023 general elections and our chances of winning are bright”.
On how he intends to handle the security challenges bedeviling the State, he said, he will in the first instance reinstate all the sacked District Heads by this administration, re-assign them towards information intelligence gathering within their domains and environs.
He said, the district heads know their domain better and can identify strangers and Intruders for prompt action, adding that, “the sacking of the district heads may be largely a contributing factor to the current insecurity being witnessed in the State.
On whether he will probe Governor Nasir el-Rufai’s administration, he simply said, “I will carry out due diligence and whoever takes what belongs to the government will be made to return it including sold government assets”.
